Your Questions Answered
These are the most common questions we're asked about the site. If your question isn't answered here, don't hesitate to reach out to us via our contact form.
What is Clear Path Assessment?
Clear Path Assessment is an online platform that helps individuals and families to find suitable clinics offering autism and neurodiversity assessments, and contact them if they choose.
Is Clear Path Assessment free?
Yes, this website is a free resource to help connect you with the right clinics and assessment centres based on your needs
Do you provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment?
No. Clear Path Assessment is not a medical organisation and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The site helps you connect with independent clinics that provide these services
How do I find the right clinic for me (or my child)?
Use the filters to narrow down by neurotype/specialism (for example Autism, ADHD and other neurotypes including AuDHD and PDA), location, and additional clinic features (such as online vs in-person, sensory-friendly options, or post-diagnosis support where listed).
We've created the most comprehensive filtering system for assessment centres in the UK so that you can find a clinic that most suits your needs. So if you're keen to have access to a team specialising in working with Teens, trauma-informed practitioners or many other options, we've made it easy to find the best match for you.
How accurate are fees, wait times, and clinic details?
We do our best to keep listings up to date, but we do not guarantee that clinic information is always perfectly up to date. We recommend confirming fees, availability, and process with your chosen clinic before going ahead with an assessment.
What is Right to Choose?
Right to Choose for autism and ADHD in England is a legal right for NHS patients to access the provider of their choice for health assessments including for Autism. Often, this can be a way to move through long waiting lists quicker by choosing an NHS-approved private service for a free assessment.
To access Right to Choose, you first need to go to your GP and request a Right to Choose referral. You can use Clear Path Assessment to find Right to Choose approved providers near you.
What does “EHCP-ready reporting” mean?
This means that the clinic provides reports that are designed to support offering structured evidence for an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) application either via school or directly as a family. Assessment centres specialising in working with children are often highly skilled in providing the information needed to apply for an EHCP and to support you through the process

Do you share my details with clinics?
